The Adam Project (Home Theater Review)

After accidentally crash-landing in 2022, time-traveling fighter pilot Adam Reed teams up with his 12-year-old self on a mission to save the future.

Video Review

This movie was reviewed in 4K UHD so the image was incredible. All of the color recreation of the HDR content was spot on and great as expected. Now that technology has finally caught up with the demand, the visual differences between viewing 4K UHD content on a disk and streaming 4K UHD have become minimal in many cases.

To view 4K UHD Netflix content you will need a few things. First you have to have their premium service. What most people don't know is that you need the hardware that natively supports it next. So whatever device that you watch it on has to support the video format. You can see what tech I use for home theater testing here. And finally you'll need a fast internet connection to stream the content at the higher butrate that it requires.

Sound Review

This movie uses a great implementation of Dolby Atmos throughought the entire movie. From the intro you get a good taste of atmos and surround sounds during while Adam steals the ship to time jump. Even though it uses Atmos a lot its low. I mean the sound is low. You'll really need to crank up the volume or speaker distance to hear the surround sounds as loud as the bed layer or left, right and center channel sounds.

And because I use bass shakers/transducers, I know that there's a LOT of bass and low end sound in this movie. So... depending on how much of a bass enthusiast you are get ready to adjust it.

Home Theater Review

Overall, watching this movie was a good experience in my home theater. The video has a perfect score of 5 stars. And the sound has a score of 4 out of 5. So the overall score is a 4 out of 5 stars.
