Independence Day: Resurgence (Home Theater Review)

We always knew they were coming back. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

Video Review

This was already a good looking movie and the 4K UHD disc has done little to improve it in my opinion. The colors are more flushed out and the contrast has been improved.

Sound Review

The LFE in this movie is pretty good. It isn't overdone like many other movies that I have watched. And even though the sound is Dolby Audio TrueHD and not Dolby Atmos it still shines in this movie. There's a good use of the surround and overhead speakers even when there's no fighting. My only gripe is that the surround sounds seemed low in volume, sometimes. Its unlike other movies where the surrounds were just right like Pacific Rim. But this is my opinion.
